Time is up, and the long-awaited iOS 14 is finally out. It came out a couple of days ago, on the 16th of September 2020. Not only that, but we also saw the release of TVOS 14, watchOS 7, and iPadOS 14. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook had a virtual event a few days before, and he revealed the release date in his virtual event. The event was on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. The virtual event saw the Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, iPad 8, and iPad Air 4 being introduced. We have been waiting for iOS 14 ever since WWDC 2020 in June. It took a long time, but finally, it is here.
Are you worried about whether your iPhone is compatible with the latest and up-to-date iOS 14? Don’t be. Apple has given us a list of iPhone models compatible with iOS 14. This list includes:
Not just these, the seventh-generation iPod touch is also compatible with iOS 14.
If your iPhone or iPod touch is compatible with iOS 14, you can download it easily. You will have to wait for it to reach your device. Once it has reached, just go to Settings>General>Software Update. If you have selected the automatic update option, then you won’t have to do anything. Your iPhone will automatically update itself. If you are doing it manually, we would recommend that you make a backup of all your data before you start the installation and update process. Also, make sure that your device is plugged in and charging.
One of the main things that we see in iOS 14 is the home screen pages. Apple had already told us about it at WWDC 2020. You now have more space to organize your apps into a single view. This is what Apple is calling the App Library. You are also getting better and newer interfaces for FaceTime, voice calls, Siri, and more. Also, the widgets have been redesigned. Another thing that people were waiting for and now can access is the Picture in Picture support.
Another feature Apple introduced in iOS 14 is the upgraded Messages section. Now, you can pin important or favorite message threads. Also, you can get alerts for group messages whenever you are mentioned. More updates that we can look forward to are preloaded Maps, Siri, and Safari apps.
iOS 14 is not the only thing that was launched. They also launched iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, and tvOS 14. They all have their features, so we will just name a few. As far as iPadOS 14 is concerned, you can enjoy a redesigned sidebar, pull-down menus, and a better and more optimized search experience.
When Apple announced the release of iOS 14 at WWDC, we were all enthralled and eager to receive this update. Now that it is here let’s see how it fares as compared to the previous updates that we’ve seen.
